Daily Makeup Routine + Sephora VIB 15% Off

Happy Monday beautiful people!

I have been lovingggg my daily makeup routine lately. I thought I could share with you all the products I’ve been using and loving for the past half a year and maybe provide recommendation to you! P.S. if you are a Sephora VIB, the 15% off VIB sale is going on until midnight tonight, 5/6!

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte with SPF 40 – Color Light – $39 + 15% Sephora VIB Discount

I have always struggled with oily skin so I try to use oil free products that won’t add additional oil to my face so I decided to try out this It Cosmetics Oil-Free CC Cream. I love that it color corrects my uneven skin tone, as well as leaves my skin glowing. It is a bit pricey but it lasts a very long time since it has the push dispenser which limits the amount of product that comes out.

Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer  – Color Sand – $6.99 at your local drug store

The Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer is one of the best concealers I’ve used, it is my absolute favorite  because it has great coverage, is light weight, and matches my skin tone perfectly.

Screenshot (70)

Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder – Color Suntan –  $5.99 at your local drug store

I previously used the Laura Mercier setting powder but it was just so pricey and I couldn’t convince myself to keep spending that much on setting powder. I feel like this setting powder is very comparable to the Laura Mercier  powder but for a cheaper price and more product overall. It also provides a nice matte finish.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer – Color Medium Brown – $23 + 15% VIB Discount

Brows are very important to me. I had heard so many great things about the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer and had seen so may people using it so I decided to try it out. I mostly use the eyebrow brush the most, to brush out and shape my eyebrows but I use the product to color in those areas that maybe don’t get as colored in and need a little extra color.

Screenshot (72)

Lime Crime Bushy Brow Precision Pen – Color Brownie – $20 at Lime Crime, Urban Outfitters, Ulta

I got sent this Lime Crime Bushy Brow Precision Pen through Influencer and absolutely fell in love with it! I use this product to outline my eyebrows both on the top and bottom, to define the shape. I then brush the product out with the Anastasia brow brush  above. This product has lasted me so long and I love the sharp point it offers for precision. This product is basically like a liquid eyeliner but specific for your brows.

Screenshot (75)

Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow + Volumizing Eyebrow Gel – Color 3 Medium (Neutral Light Brown) – $24 + 15% Sephora VIB Discount

The Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Gel is my biggest necessity for my brows, this is the product I use to really tint and shade in my brows to add extra color. I love the texture it gives my brows because it is a brush like texture which appears as hair like strokes and looks very natural.

Screenshot (74)

Milk Makeup Kush Brow Gel – Color Clear – $18 + 15% Sephora VIB Discount

I am a huge fan of Milk Makeup’s products and had heard so many great things about their Kush Brow Gel. Every time I went to get my hands on it, my closets Sephora store was always sold out. I finally was able to find the clear brow gel and have been using that one instead of the tinted one. It keeps my brows place but doesn’t feel too heavy like its holding my brows down. I apply this at the end of my brow routine and it keeps my brows looking fresh and clean!

Milani Baked Bronzer – Color Dulce – $8.99 at your local drug store

One day I ran out of bronzer and stopped at my local Walgreens and found this Milani Baked Bronzer. I had heard many good things about Milani so figured I would give it a try. I love the color of this bronzer and like that there are specs of gold mixed into it. It has pigment and provides a bronze tone with the first application.

Screenshot (79)

E.l.f. Cosmetics Baked Highlight and Bronzer Duo – Color Bronze Glow – $4 at your local drug store

I received the Elf Cosmetics Bronzer and Highlight duo in an Elf Influencer box. I truly felt like it gave me a bronze glow just as the name says. Although I use my own separate highlighters, this product adds a great natural glow to my skin before I apply the other highlighters. If I am just going for a natural look I will only use this product as bronzer/ highlight instead of adding on other highlights for a less dramatic glow.

Screenshot (81)

Morphe Blush Trio – Color Pop of Blush – $12 at Ulta or Morphe

I am a huge fan of Morphe and all its products! When I went to Dallas around Christmas time, I stopped at one of the malls in Dallas that had a Morphe store there, so of course I had to shop around. I found this Morphe Blush Trio and got so excited because I was looking for a new blush. The Pop of Blush trio set is amazing and provides a peachy shade, a cherry blossom pink shade, and a grapefruit shade. They have 6 different other trio sets to accommodate everyone’s skin tone and blush preferences. The Pop of Blush trio is my absolute favorite though because its not too pink or too orange.

Screenshot (82)

Milk Makeup Kush High Volume Mascara – $12 + 15% Sephora VIB Discount

Yet another Milk Makeup product I love is the Kush High Volume Mascara. This mascara only comes in one shade – Black and I love how dark and pigmented it is! It not only adds volume to my lashes but also adds depth. I have the mini  size of the mascara and I love it because it is the perfect size to carry anywhere in any size purse/bag. There is also a full size available as well for $24.

Screenshot (83)

It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara – Color Super Black – $24 + 15% Sephora VIB Discount

I am obviously a fan of It Cosmetics products, as seen above. During the holiday season, Ulta was having a sale for black Friday and I found the Superhero Mascara for only $10. This is a steal because the mascara is regular $24, so you save $14! I absolutely love this mascara because it provides volume and length with the Elastic Stretch Technology. The mascara brush provided with it helps define and lengthen each individual lash leaving your lashes looking flawless!

Screenshot (84)

Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in Moonlight – $42 + 15% Sephora VIB Discount

The Cover | FX enhancer drops were included in the Glow For It – Sephora Favorite Highlight Sampler set I purchased during the holidays and I absolutely love the glow of it! I got it in the shade Moonlight which has a silver glow. I normally probably wouldn’t buy the full size of this product because it is so pricey but it is such a great product! I love that the highlight is in the form of drops, instead of powder. I usually place 2 or 3 drops on each of my cheek bones and then spread the product with my finger. You immediately see the glow and pigment 😍

Screenshot (85)

Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Illuminati – $27+ 15% Sephora VIB Discount

I had never heard too much of the brand Artist Couture their Diamond Glow Powder was also included in the Glow For It – Sephora Favorite Highlight Sampler set in the color Illuminati. The shade Illuminati is a iridescent silver and champagne powder and leaves a gorgeous glow! I usually add the Cover | FX enhancer drops and then will apply the Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder after with an eyeshadow brush.

Pro Tip: I also love to apply this product to my eyelids to add a little glow and shimmer to my lids and it looks gorg!

Screenshot (86)

Anastasia Beverly Hills Sun Dipped Glow Kit – $40+ 15% Sephora VIB Discount

Lastly, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sun Dipped Glow Kit is by far my favorite glow kit shades because they are all bronzy tones. I have been obsessed with this kit since it came out. I used my 15% VIB discount from a previous year to purchase this since it is so pricey.  Since it comes with 4 highlights, it really only comes out to $10 each highlight so it’s not too bad but $40 just sounds like a lot. Depending on what mood I’m in that day, I will either use 2 or all of the highlights to add just a little pop to my daily looks. Plus I love looking like a glazed doughnut ✨

All of the items I just included are products I use daily for my makeup routine, a lot of the items I got from Sephora and Ulta, but some of the products you can find at your local drug store. If I use makeup products that are pricey, I usually will try to find a deal around them. Such as the Sephora VIB sale. I don’t believe in breaking the bank for beauty products, and most of the time you can find similar products at the drug store for half of the price, so always do your research! I love that Ulta and Sephora also provide trial size offers of different brands and beauty products so that you can test the products out before deciding if you really want to pay full price on it. I would not put these products out on my platform if they weren’t something I truly loved or felt were amazing!

If you are a VIB with Sephora, be sure to shop the 15% off sale before it ends tonight, 5/6 at midnight or go into your local store to shop!

76A3DC56-7BB9-479C-9C1A-C562C95E85EF

If you are not apart of the Rewards Program with Sephora, you can sign up for free online or in store. For each item you purchase, you get points on your account that you can use towards free items! You also get seasonal savings, such as the 15% off and many other benefits!

Mask Monday: GLAMGLOW Bubblesheet Mask

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope everyone had a great start to the week. I am so happy its a short week, since we have thanksgiving on Thursday. I wanted to introduce one of the new weekly posts I will be doing every Monday, called none other than – Mask Monday. I have been really into skincare lately because lets face it, its never too early to start fighting those fine lines and wrinkles. I have also battled with minor acne and oily skin growing up and want to be more kind and nurturing to my skin, so every Monday I am going to try a new mask and give you my review on it. The masks will range from sheet masks, peel off masks, mud masks homemade masks, and so forth,  so lets get started 🙂

To kick off Mask Monday, I decided to go big with GLAMGLOW’s Bubblesheet. I was soo excited to try this because I am a big GLAMGLOW fan, they are my favorite mask company to date. When I went shopping for my VIB 20% off discount, this was one of the first things I grabbed.

This is the first sheet mask I’ve ever used and I didn’t know what to expect, sheet masks honestly remind me of the CPR episode of the office when Dwight cuts out the face of the CPR dummy and turns around with the mask on his face hahaha (disclaimer:  I am a huge fan of The Office, shoutout to my boyfriend for getting me into it). So needless to say, I didn’t take a picture of myself with it on because I looked absolutely ridiculous. Actually, I did attempt at taking a picture to post in here but it was too weird and creepy to include..

b7f5f3b1a7a3190a86ef715da5071e0f.jpg

So anyways, back to the mask – the mask is an oxygenating deep clean mask with Green Tea TEAOXI. Within 3 minutes the mask is supposed invigorate, detoxify, and remove remaining face makeup. You first have to dampen your face and then put the mask on by aligning it to your nose, eyes, and mouth. Once you put the mask on, it immediately starts tingling and foaming up with bubbles. OMG let me tell you, the tingling sensation felt sooo good, I felt like my face was getting massaged by little fingers or something, it was honestly so relaxing that the 3 minutes went by so fast and I was honestly so sad to take off the mask.

One thing I love about GLAMGLOW’s masks and one reason why I am such a big fan of the skin care company, is because I know these masks work. Some of the masks may be a little pricey, but I am willing to pay good money for my skin as long as the product is good and I can vouch for it. Needless to say, I was definitely impressed with this sheet mask because I didn’t think that the bubbles or the tingly sensation on my face would be that powerful. Once you take the mask off, it says to massage the remaining bubbles onto your face and then rinse all the product off. When I massaged the bubbles onto my face, my face felt so good and soft and I mean, who doesn’t love bubbles? The mask instructions don’t say to use a toner after your done, but I did just so I could shrink my pores, I then followed up with my moisturizer to keep my face hydrated.

On a scale of 1-10, I give the Bubblesheet a 9. I loved the tingly feeling of my skin being cleansed and truly feel like it detoxified my face. My skin felt soft and smooth after the mask, but it did leave my skin feeling a little bit dry – which is never a norm for my skin. I would’ve liked for the mask to leave my skin a little more hydrated, but I have no complaints – this mask is a great one and left my skin with a slight glow! I will definitely be purchasing this mask again, probably closer to winter ending so I can have a nice detox before the warmer weather comes around. I definitely recommend this mask to anybody who feels their face needs a detox or a deep cleanse. It is also be a great mask to use after a night of falling asleep with your makeup on. Let’s face it, we all do it sometimes and idk about you but I feel so guilty for doing that to my skin after, which makes this the perfect mask for that situation! The Bubblesheet mask is $9 and can be purchased at Sephora or on the GLAMGLOW website.

Thanks for tuning in to Mask Monday, and I look forward to sharing more mask reviews with y’all soon! If you have any recommendations on masks I should review next, please comment and let me know!

Photoshoot contest

Hello again, loves!

Sorry it has been a while, working for Disney has me busy, busy, busy!

A few months ago I won a photo-shoot contest for a local photographer in San Antonio ‘Laura D Photography’. Laura was looking for models of all ages, with no modeling experience what so ever to help her expand her photography clientele. Three winners would be chosen – one for a portrait session, one for couples/engagement sessions, and one for a family session, you would also receive one complimentary photo shoot session, as well as an on set makeup artist, who would do your makeup for you the day of your photo-shoot.

Out of all the people who inquired and for the contest, I was one of the people chosen as a model! I was of course, so excited because I haven’t done a photo-shoot since I was taking pictures for my Quince invitations/party. Of course, being an aspiring fashion blogger, I knew not only would this photo-shoot help me be taken more seriously by companies and people in the world of Fashion but it would also benefit Laura by gaining new clientele from my followers on Instagram.

I accepted the photo-shoot opportunity, and we started texting and planned on a date and time when we could get together and start shooting. We did a lot of brainstorming and planning out details through text such as what we thought a good location would be and also a good theme for it. Once, we set a theme [Boho Chic] I stared shopping around and looking at different boutiques and stores. We decided that we would shoot in a outdoorsy area around the time that the sun was setting so the lighting would be perfect, we were both so excited to bring our ideas to life!

I finally received the pictures and I am in AWE over how they came out, so I thought I would share with y’all for those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram just yet 😉

I decided that I wanted to go with an outfit that included a lace up criss-cross top because I thought that it would go with the theme, what I ended up finding while shopping ended up being much better instead, while I was shopping in A’GACI I found a long sleeve, black, dress that ended up having the criss-cross lace up on the chest. Luckily, I found the last size small they had! Usually I get loose fitting dresses in extra small instead of small, but I couldn’t find any extra small dresses and just went with size small instead. I had also noticed that the trend for lace up ballet flats was starting to become a trend as well, and I found a perfect style at Old Navy for only $15. I thought that the lace up flats would compliment the lace up dress chest perfectly. I loved that the dress was black, because it was simple but I knew that I could dress it up with makeup and accessories.

We had decided on doing 2 different outfits for the shoot, and I was completely lost on what to wear for the second outfit change. I went shopping around for a few days and couldn’t find anything that I liked and went with the Nature-Boho theme. One day, however, I was shopping in Charlotte Russe and found a taupe colored wide long sleeve top with details around the forearm cuff area that I thought I could pair perfectly with white simple jeans, a long, gold necklace to compliment the color of the top, and taupe colored booties.

The day of the shoot, I was so excited that the day was finally here ~ time to bring these ideas to life! After school, I went over to Laura’s and her sister Elizabeth did my makeup, she decided to go with a neutral look since we were going with a boho theme and we didn’t want the makeup to conflict with the theme. She contoured my face and added some false natural looking lash extensions, and then we added one of my maroon lipsticks from Stila to finish off the look. We decided to shoot at this park in Grey Forest called Madla Park which has this huge open field of sun flowers and plants and had a beautiful scenery.  I have never been more comfortable with anybody doing a shoot except with my best friend Angelica, but the shoot went so well and I felt like such a natural with Laura. Down below I will post the pictures 🙂

Thanks for reading! Have a great week!

Fashion Week San Antonio

A week filled with fashion shows, glamour, fashion designers, after parties, models and all things fashion! Who wouldn’t love a whole week dedicated to all those amazing things? I wish the week could’ve lasted much longer but I am so happy to have experienced Fashion Week San Antonio 2015. Lucky for me, since I was an intern I was able to see all the behind the scenes preparation and able to take part in the planning and all the things that come into play when planning fashion week!

FWSA15 Designers:

Duquevelez by Jorge Duque Velez SS 2016
A’GACI SS 2016
Moda Next Showcase SS 2016
Anthony Ryan SS 2016
Samantha Plasencia SS 2016
Reuben Reuel Fall/Winter 2015
Celestino SS 2016

DUQUEVELEZ

Jorge Duque Velez had some of the most unique designs I’ve ever seen. He is a Colombia native and used a lot of mesh/jersey materials on his clothes and had a lot of unique colors, graphics, jewels, and accessories on his pieces. I didn’t get to take a picture of it, but he had tops made from wood as well and they were the coolest thing! He really knew what women were looking for when shopping and almost all of his dresses or skirts had built in pockets, which were my favorite! I worked behind the scenes with him steaming the clothes and getting to know him and he was the sweetest man ever and I was in love with all his pieces!

A’GACI

I’m not sure if many people know this, but San Antonio is where A’GACI’s headquarters are located. They’ve had fashion shows in our previous fashion weeks as well and who better to be in our fashion week than the top retail store that A’GACI is. I think its so cool that the corporate offices are here because it gives us fashionista’s a chance to work in the fashion industry by working for them and making our way up there. They had a lot of looks for the upcoming holidays and some casual wear.

Moda Next: Fashion’s Forthcoming

Moda Next featured 6 different designers from San Antonio: Joey Ramirez, Valerie Perez, Tessa Guerra, Christian Alonzo, Blanquita Sullivan, and Bruno Horwath. Instead of this event being a fashion show, it was a walk through showcase where they were all in the same room and people were able to walk around to see each of their designs. Bruno Horwath‘s (IG: @alaverbclothing) line was menswear and it included polo’s and button-up shirts with different colored pants. I liked his collection because it was colorful clothes for guys and they all looked so handsome! Christian Alonzo‘s (IG: @91authentic) collection was very Yeezy inspired and included all black colored clothes all paired with Adidas sneakers, I loved it! Tessa Guerra‘s (IG: @rueandme) collection was all clothes for little girls, she was inspired for her collection from her daughters. Blanquita Sullivan‘s (IG: @bonjourbiqui) collection was soo cute and included dresses and two piece sets. Her collection is perfect for a summer day at a park for a picnic. Valerie Perez‘s (IG: @boutiqueverseau)collection was very 80’s themed and was one of my favorite collections! All pieces included bright colored crochet garments with sunglasses paired with each and jellies for the shoes. I would honestly buy EVERYTHING from her collection! Lastly was Joey Ramirez‘s (IG: @jose_mariezsa) collection and his included clothing for women. His collection was AMAZING and included mostly wool pieces with fringe and one all white two piece outfit! This showcase made me so proud to be from San Antonio because all these designers were so amazing and talented!

Anthony Ryan

Anthony Ryan was from Baton Rouge, Louisiana is a designer from Project Runway winner from season 9. His collection was so unique and had some amazing designs for women and men. His boutique The Anthill is located in the Stone Oak area of San Antonio. His designs included jackets, ponchos, and lots of layering. Definitely be sure to check out his boutique!

Samantha Plasencia

Former project runway contestant Samantha Plasencia from season 13 and alumni of our very own Incarnate Word Fashion School. Her collection included street wear for women and men. The collection was a very comfortable but trendy feel, and the music during the fashion show was all hip hop and included music from Travis Scott and Kanye West.

Reuben Reuel

Reuben Reuel is a designer from Brooklyn, New York. His brand named Demestiks New York is all about colorful prints and different mix of African patterns from dresses and two piece sets. Beyoncé has been seen and photographed wearing his designs.

25-beyonce.w529.h352

Celestino

Celestino’s collection was all about evening gowns! The gowns were a little risque where they showed a tasteful amount of skin but also covered enough of the body to still be elegant. His designs were amazing and I would definitely wear some of the gowns to an award show or fancy event!

I love that San Antonio has been getting its name out there in terms of the fashion industry and is continuing to grow and put out city on the map.Throughout the years I’ve done some soul searching and learned more about myself and came to the conclusion that I want to have a career in something I’m passionate about – and what better career than a career in the fashion industry! This lead me to start blogging and sharing my style with other people in the world such as you all, my amazing followers! Getting this internship was an amazing opportunity for me because it was my first time working with people who were just as passionate about fashion as I was. I was a little nervous but it was such an amazing experience! I can’t wait to be part of the fashion week San Antonio team again next year and continue to get my name out there and network!
