My Bedroom Decor

Hello and happy Wednesday!

I recently moved into a new place and went through a whole process of planning out and designing my room into what I had envisioned. Let me tell you, this was the perfect project to keep me busy since we are still in the middle of a pandemic. I have been sharing a lot of process via my Instagram, and that may be the reason you’re here if you have been following along with my stories and updates. Thank you for visiting and welcome!

I am a huge believer and advocate of making your personal space whether that be your bedroom, apartment, house, etc. your happy place & sanctuary and surrounding it with things you love and enjoy. Your personal space is the only space that is truly yours and its important to make it enjoyable, welcoming, and a place to go to when you feel like escape the outside world. Or at least the place you like to spend your time especially in these pandemic times.

I moved out of my parents house a little over a year ago, and was ready to create a space of my own. The room at my parents had lavender painted walls and a lot of random things on the walls that related to my childhood or college days. Once I moved into my apartment, I was just trying to get used to being on my own and soaking in all the space and freedom I had that I never really did anything to my room to decorate or really make it my own. So once my apartment lease was coming to an end I started brainstorming what I wanted my new room to look like and started looking up inspiration on Pinterest. I decided to create my own board to put my ideas all in one place and combine ideas of things I really loved.
Pinterest board linked here

For my new room I knew I wanted it to meet certain criteria and interests. I recently became a big lover of plants and started a collection of my own, so I knew I wanted greenery or plants of some sort. I also am a big fan of natural lighting and love opening my windows and having the ability for natural light to come in. I also am not a big fan of clutter and learned I really like open spaces so I knew I wanted a lot of organization. Aside from that, the rest of my room kind of came together on its own and was a pretty effortless but exciting process.

Below are pictures of all my room decor and direct links of where you can shop the exact items or similar items.

Black Makeup Vanity

I was gifted the makeup vanity a couple years back from my mom and sister for Christmas. I love having a little area in my room to do my makeup and also love that the mirror can close down so I can also use the vanity as a little desk area, which really came in handy this year when I had to start working from home. The desk and the chair came together as a set. I could not find the exact vanity that I have but I found very similar ones on amazon linked here, here,  here,  here, here.

Chest / Hat Wall

I love wearing hats and always kept them in my closet and out of reach so they weren’t always easily accessible, I knew with my new room that I wanted an area to  showcase them whether that meant hang them on the wall or somewhere that I could easily access them and be able to throw on with an outfit. I looked up many different  ways to display them and ended up really liking this idea above. I chose to hang the hats with command hooks so I wouldn’t damage the wall and leaving the option to easily adjust and move them around in case I get more hats in the future to add to my collection.  I got my chest in the Finley bedroom set collection from Living spaces. I am in love with the gray woodsy finishing of the bedroom set. It really ties my room together with the neutral tone and the hats add a little pop of color.

Curtain LED Lights

These curtain lights are amazing! I found them on Amazon and they have 8 different settings. I have always been a fan of hanging lights in my room, either around my bed or on my wall so I don’t have to have the big bedroom light on in the evening. I chose the curtain style because they are so effortless and you can easily hang them on the wall without having to worry about making sure they’re centered in place or worry about them falling. The 8 different lighting settings are great because you can switch the lighting ambiance up depending on what mood you’re in. You can find them here.

Night Stand / Left Side of Bed

The nightstand is in the Finley bedroom set collection from Living spaces, you can find linked here. The drawers are deep and perfect for storing items that you may need easily accessible on the bedside.

I found the charging station one day when I was on Tik Tok and thought it was an amazing purchase. I have an Apple Watch, Airpods, and iPhone, so this charging stand was perfect because you can charge all 3 items at the same time. This specific charging stand comes with a cord that links all chargers to one cord and you do not have to use your own charging cables/cords. If you are like me and have all the Apple products, you will definitely enjoy this and find that it comes in handy. Shoutout to Tik Tok for always making me spend more money lol. Charging stand linked here.

Having my room smell good is very important to me and always helps me relax. I usually switch between lighting my candles or using my essential oil diffuser. I purchased this diffuser a while back from Walmart and it works amazing and has 7 different LED colors you can choose from to light your room up in the evening. My favorite scents are lavender and eucalyptus. Essential Oil Diffuser linked here.

White Picture Ledge 3 pack linked here and single shelf linked here.  Will discuss further down in this blog post.
Plant on shelf is part of 3 pack linked here.
Black Sheets linked here, they come in 9 different colors and they come in 6 different bed sizes.

Bedframe / Comforter Set

As stated further up, I got the Finley bedroom set from Living Spaces in the Queen size, currently they are sold out of some items (I think due to covid-19 and delay in manufacture process) but the bedframe alone is linked here and the full 3 piece bedroom set that I got is linked here. The bedroom set also comes in a 4 piece bedroom set linked here. I got the bedroom set delivered to my house and assembled it myself, which was pretty manageable. I had a great experience with Living Spaces!

I found a 4 piece comforter set at Ross from the brand Sage Home that came with the comforter, 2 shams, and one decorative pillow. I couldn’t find the exact set I got or brand but I found some similar ones from Amazon linked here, here, and here. I love that it is a neutral color and makes my room flow very well with the gray color of the furniture.

Right Side of Bed

I  did a lot of research to find the perfect black sheets to go with my bed. I found some  from Amazon linked here, they are very cozy and soft, and decided to go with these because they had really great reviews and also really great packaging. Highly recommend! They come in 9 different colors and they come in 6 different bed sizes.

The lamp, shelf, and artificial succulent plants I found on a very successful trip to IKEA! Closer picture of plants below.

I’ve had my eye on the Holmo Floor Lamp for quite a while, because I loved that it wasn’t a traditional standing lamp style. There is a foot button for easy ability to turn on/off and the shade is made from rice paper which makes a mellow lighting ambiance. Lamp double pack linked here and single lamp linked here.

Artificial Plants

I knew I wanted plants in my room but I wasn’t quite sure if I wanted to go with artificial plants or real plants. After weighing out a pros and cons list I figured artificial would be better so I could avoid having bugs in my room and also wouldn’t have to worry about watering the plants daily. I found these plants at IKEA and fell in love with them! I love succulents and I have a couple real ones of my own, I saw they came in a 3 pack and knew I had to snag them for my room. Artificial 3 pack succulent plants linked here.

Since I decided to get the plants, I needed to get shelves for my room to display the plants but had to decide between clear shelves or white. I saw these shelves at IKEA and love them because they are deep enough for you to put photos, plants, and many other different things for display.  White photo ledge shelf linked here.

I got this artificial potted plant from my good friend for my birthday this past year, I like that it came in a neutral colored vase and paired well with the other artificial plants on the other side of my bed. This plant is part of a 3 pack as well and can be found here.

Black Easel Mirror

I was looking for good standing body mirror for quite a while and I wanted one that I didn’t have to worry about hanging on a wall or door and creating more holes in the wall. I ended up finding this mirror at TJ Maxx, it was the last one on the shelf so I knew it was meant to be. The easel makes it easy to set anywhere and it is the perfect body mirror for try-on sessions, outfit selfies, etc. I found similar ones here, here, and here.

Throughout this process I learned that I really enjoy interior design and really letting my creative juices flow in a different way I never allowed them to. I truly feel at peace when I walk into my room and even when I spend time in there and I think that is so important since I spend so much time in there. I’m so happy I was able to share my process with you and hope you have found some items that would look great in your room as well! If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me via this post or even my Instagram. If you want to stay updated with me or don’t follow me yet, feel free to do so here! Daily Makeup Routine + Sephora VIB 15% Off

Happy Monday beautiful people!

I have been lovingggg my daily makeup routine lately. I thought I could share with you all the products I’ve been using and loving for the past half a year and maybe provide recommendation to you! P.S. if you are a Sephora VIB, the 15% off VIB sale is going on until midnight tonight, 5/6!

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte with SPF 40 – Color Light – $39 + 15% Sephora VIB Discount

I have always struggled with oily skin so I try to use oil free products that won’t add additional oil to my face so I decided to try out this It Cosmetics Oil-Free CC Cream. I love that it color corrects my uneven skin tone, as well as leaves my skin glowing. It is a bit pricey but it lasts a very long time since it has the push dispenser which limits the amount of product that comes out.

Screenshot (69)

Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer  – Color Sand – $6.99 at your local drug store

The Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer is one of the best concealers I’ve used, it is my absolute favorite  because it has great coverage, is light weight, and matches my skin tone perfectly.

Screenshot (70)

Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder – Color Suntan –  $5.99 at your local drug store

I previously used the Laura Mercier setting powder but it was just so pricey and I couldn’t convince myself to keep spending that much on setting powder. I feel like this setting powder is very comparable to the Laura Mercier  powder but for a cheaper price and more product overall. It also provides a nice matte finish.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer – Color Medium Brown – $23 + 15% VIB Discount

Brows are very important to me. I had heard so many great things about the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer and had seen so may people using it so I decided to try it out. I mostly use the eyebrow brush the most, to brush out and shape my eyebrows but I use the product to color in those areas that maybe don’t get as colored in and need a little extra color.

Screenshot (72)

Lime Crime Bushy Brow Precision Pen – Color Brownie – $20 at Lime Crime, Urban Outfitters, Ulta

I got sent this Lime Crime Bushy Brow Precision Pen through Influencer and absolutely fell in love with it! I use this product to outline my eyebrows both on the top and bottom, to define the shape. I then brush the product out with the Anastasia brow brush  above. This product has lasted me so long and I love the sharp point it offers for precision. This product is basically like a liquid eyeliner but specific for your brows.

Screenshot (75)

Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow + Volumizing Eyebrow Gel – Color 3 Medium (Neutral Light Brown) – $24 + 15% Sephora VIB Discount

The Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Gel is my biggest necessity for my brows, this is the product I use to really tint and shade in my brows to add extra color. I love the texture it gives my brows because it is a brush like texture which appears as hair like strokes and looks very natural.

Screenshot (74)

Milk Makeup Kush Brow Gel – Color Clear – $18 + 15% Sephora VIB Discount

I am a huge fan of Milk Makeup’s products and had heard so many great things about their Kush Brow Gel. Every time I went to get my hands on it, my closets Sephora store was always sold out. I finally was able to find the clear brow gel and have been using that one instead of the tinted one. It keeps my brows place but doesn’t feel too heavy like its holding my brows down. I apply this at the end of my brow routine and it keeps my brows looking fresh and clean!
Screenshot (77)

Milani Baked Bronzer – Color Dulce – $8.99 at your local drug store

One day I ran out of bronzer and stopped at my local Walgreens and found this Milani Baked Bronzer. I had heard many good things about Milani so figured I would give it a try. I love the color of this bronzer and like that there are specs of gold mixed into it. It has pigment and provides a bronze tone with the first application.

Screenshot (79)

E.l.f. Cosmetics Baked Highlight and Bronzer Duo – Color Bronze Glow – $4 at your local drug store

I received the Elf Cosmetics Bronzer and Highlight duo in an Elf Influencer box. I truly felt like it gave me a bronze glow just as the name says. Although I use my own separate highlighters, this product adds a great natural glow to my skin before I apply the other highlighters. If I am just going for a natural look I will only use this product as bronzer/ highlight instead of adding on other highlights for a less dramatic glow.

Screenshot (81)

Morphe Blush Trio – Color Pop of Blush – $12 at Ulta or Morphe

I am a huge fan of Morphe and all its products! When I went to Dallas around Christmas time, I stopped at one of the malls in Dallas that had a Morphe store there, so of course I had to shop around. I found this Morphe Blush Trio and got so excited because I was looking for a new blush. The Pop of Blush trio set is amazing and provides a peachy shade, a cherry blossom pink shade, and a grapefruit shade. They have 6 different other trio sets to accommodate everyone’s skin tone and blush preferences. The Pop of Blush trio is my absolute favorite though because its not too pink or too orange.

Screenshot (82)

Milk Makeup Kush High Volume Mascara – $12 + 15% Sephora VIB Discount

Yet another Milk Makeup product I love is the Kush High Volume Mascara. This mascara only comes in one shade – Black and I love how dark and pigmented it is! It not only adds volume to my lashes but also adds depth. I have the mini  size of the mascara and I love it because it is the perfect size to carry anywhere in any size purse/bag. There is also a full size available as well for $24.

Screenshot (83)

It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara – Color Super Black – $24 + 15% Sephora VIB Discount

I am obviously a fan of It Cosmetics products, as seen above. During the holiday season, Ulta was having a sale for black Friday and I found the Superhero Mascara for only $10. This is a steal because the mascara is regular $24, so you save $14! I absolutely love this mascara because it provides volume and length with the Elastic Stretch Technology. The mascara brush provided with it helps define and lengthen each individual lash leaving your lashes looking flawless!

Screenshot (84)

Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in Moonlight – $42 + 15% Sephora VIB Discount

The Cover | FX enhancer drops were included in the Glow For It – Sephora Favorite Highlight Sampler set I purchased during the holidays and I absolutely love the glow of it! I got it in the shade Moonlight which has a silver glow. I normally probably wouldn’t buy the full size of this product because it is so pricey but it is such a great product! I love that the highlight is in the form of drops, instead of powder. I usually place 2 or 3 drops on each of my cheek bones and then spread the product with my finger. You immediately see the glow and pigment 😍

Screenshot (85)

Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Illuminati – $27+ 15% Sephora VIB Discount

I had never heard too much of the brand Artist Couture their Diamond Glow Powder was also included in the Glow For It – Sephora Favorite Highlight Sampler set in the color Illuminati. The shade Illuminati is a iridescent silver and champagne powder and leaves a gorgeous glow! I usually add the Cover | FX enhancer drops and then will apply the Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder after with an eyeshadow brush.

Pro Tip: I also love to apply this product to my eyelids to add a little glow and shimmer to my lids and it looks gorg!

Screenshot (86)

Anastasia Beverly Hills Sun Dipped Glow Kit – $40+ 15% Sephora VIB Discount

Lastly, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sun Dipped Glow Kit is by far my favorite glow kit shades because they are all bronzy tones. I have been obsessed with this kit since it came out. I used my 15% VIB discount from a previous year to purchase this since it is so pricey.  Since it comes with 4 highlights, it really only comes out to $10 each highlight so it’s not too bad but $40 just sounds like a lot. Depending on what mood I’m in that day, I will either use 2 or all of the highlights to add just a little pop to my daily looks. Plus I love looking like a glazed doughnut ✨

All of the items I just included are products I use daily for my makeup routine, a lot of the items I got from Sephora and Ulta, but some of the products you can find at your local drug store. If I use makeup products that are pricey, I usually will try to find a deal around them. Such as the Sephora VIB sale. I don’t believe in breaking the bank for beauty products, and most of the time you can find similar products at the drug store for half of the price, so always do your research! I love that Ulta and Sephora also provide trial size offers of different brands and beauty products so that you can test the products out before deciding if you really want to pay full price on it. I would not put these products out on my platform if they weren’t something I truly loved or felt were amazing!

If you are a VIB with Sephora, be sure to shop the 15% off sale before it ends tonight, 5/6 at midnight or go into your local store to shop!

If you are not apart of the Rewards Program with Sephora, you can sign up for free online or in store. For each item you purchase, you get points on your account that you can use towards free items! You also get seasonal savings, such as the 15% off and many other benefits!

As always, be sure to follow me on Instagram to keep up with my daily life and insta-stories!

For my work holiday party, I found the Sequin Fringe Midi Dress from Forever 21 which was absolutely perfect for the occasion because the theme was Roaring 20’s/Gatsby theme. I absolutely loved the dress and feel like I can wear it again for New Years Eve as well.

I wanted to give a little bit of options for this post since I know not many people are crazy about sequins so I also added some pieces that are fitting for the occasion but not too flashy. I also kept it on the affordable side because you don’t always have to break the bank to look good and be dressed for the occasion. I also wanted to share items that weren’t just online but in store because this weekend is a perfect time for last minute shopping for that perfect NYE outfit!

Thanks for reading! I hope y’all had a wonderful Christmas and have an even better New Years Eve! Keep up with my life by following me on Instagram.

My Favorite New Accessory | A Unique Wood Watch by JORD

Watches are not only an accessory, but also a necessity with my busy lifestyle.

Watches are one of my favorite jewelry pieces and are timeless.  I literally have a collection of watches in my jewelry collection and they all range from different face sizes and metals.

Much to say I was very excited when I got contacted by a company named JORD Watches for a collaboration. After looking at their website and Instagram, I quickly became a fan of their watches and high-key obsessed.  I had never seen watches that were made of all wood, until I discovered JORD watches. I love that they are hand crafted from raw woods & materials. There is literally a watch for everyone, no matter man or woman, or fashion style.

You can Shop their watch collection here

I was able to choose any watch I wanted out of their wide collection of flawless watches. When I looked at their women’s collection online, the first watch that caught my eye was the Frankie Series in Purpleheart and Plum. For as long as I can remember, purple has been my favorite color, I saw the Purpleheart and Plum watch and I knew I needed it! The Purpleheart wood is a beautiful mix between pink and purple. It had a large plum colored face which I mentioned, I am a big fan of . I feel like this watch can be worn in any season whether it be fall or summer. It is a bright vibrant color during the summer time and a subtle deep color for the fall/winter time. JORD also gives you the ability to engrave your watch with any message or name you want, I have never had any jewelry pieces personally engraved with my name so I was so excited that this was an option! I got my first and middle name “Lori Allison” engraved on the back face of my watch in cursive. I couldn’t wait to get my watch delivered!

If you’re interested in my particular watch – you can click here
If you’re interested in getting your JORD watch engraved – you can click here

When I got the email notification that my watch got delivered I was super excited to get home! The watch was in a beautiful wood box and right when I opened it, my nose got hit with the smell of fresh wood! I never knew how good fresh cut wood smelt. The watch was exactly how imagined, the pigment of the Purplewood and the size of the watch face. It was also very light which I didn’t expect since its made all out of wood!

My collaboration with JORD also includes a giveaway for a $100 gift card toward your favorite JORD watch. The giveaway ends October 28 at 11:59 pm. Each person who enters into the giveaway will also receive a 10% off code toward their JORD purchase.

I am so happy JORD reached out to me to collaborate with them, it has been such a great experience. I am in love with my watch, it is my new go to watch, I have already worn it out multiple times and have gotten so many compliments on it. The quality of their watches is amazing and I definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone!
Be sure to check out their amazing watches – with the holiday season coming up they also make an amazing gift

Wooden Wrist Watch
