Mask Monday: Mefactory Cement Peel Off Pack

Happy Mask Monday!

This Monday I decided to do a Korean beauty (k-beauty) mask from the company Mefactory. Todays mask was dedicated to clearing up blackheads and pores. I feel like I don’t pay as much attention to blackheads as I should and feel like you cant see blackheads unless you look really close up in the mirror. This mask is a cement mask and is good for clearing out the blackheads throughout your whole face. The t-zone is a very common place to get blackheads but I decided to apply it to my whole face.

For a while I was struggling with getting blackheads around my chin area on both sides of my face, I went to my local Riley Rose and was suggested to try this mask. I am a fairly new shopper to Riley Rose so I wasn’t knowledgeable about all the skincare products they offered. I love that they offer k-beauty products because that is not something I have ever used or had experience with since I have never traveled anywhere near Korea. I was originally looking for a Charcoal mask because I heard those were great for blackhead removal but the sales associate suggested this so I went ahead and took a chance on it since I’ve heard some pretty good buzz about k-beauty.

This is the first peel off mask I’ve used to I was a little clueless but definitely expected some kind of pain when it came to taking it off. I applied the mask with one of the silicone applicators I got from Riley Rose because I felt like it was going to be a lot smoother of an application process than just using my fingers. The mask was very thin and smelt a little bit like plastic so I was thrown off by it. The packaging had me very confused though because there was very little writing and it was all Korean. I kept the mask on for about 15-20 minutes, once it was completely dry it was so hard to even open my mouth because of how hard and solid it was. The mask said to peel it off once it was completely dry – and it tbh was a little bit painful to peel off. One thing I dislike about peel off masks is definitely the pain. The mask said to avoid your hair and eyebrows and you definitely should because I was tugging my hair so hard trying to make the mask off. Also it is not as easy as a sheet mask to remove because the mask comes off little by little in pieces and isn’t one smooth motion to take it off.

All around I give this mask a 4 out of 10. When I took off the mask I didn’t see any blackheads pulled off like I had expected to see, which sounds kind of nasty but that’s how you know a mask really works lol. My face did feel really soft once I removed the mask completely but it took me sooo long to peel the mask completely off since the mask came off in pieces. I was a little discouraged with this k-beauty mask but I will not give up on other brands from k-beauty and will definitely try out more masks from Riley Rose! The Mefactory Cement mask was $12ish (not too sure on the price since it was during the summer) However, I looked on the Riley Rose website and didn’t find the product there anymore but was able to locate it on Amazon for $17.99. Although I was not a big fan of this mask, I do hope that y’all may have better luck with it – if you choose to try it out.

20 Songs to Turn A Bad Day Around

Happy August everyone! Hope y’all are doing well, I am back once and for all lol (it’s been a long time coming)

Its the start of a new month and I hope for nothing but positive vibes, success, and new opportunities for everyone this month!

Lately, I have been going through a time of change and not really knowing what is the right path for me in life.  I don’t know about y’all, but I am a pretty positive and optimistic person most days, but like everyone, I sometimes struggle on always keeping that positive mindset. No matter how positive a person you are or how positive you try to be, bad days are inevitable. Every once in a while they happen, regardless if we plan to have one or not.

I’m here to tell you its okay. Whatever you’re going through, its okay because it will get better, maybe not at this exact moment, but eventually it will.

I feel like society has put this imaginary timeline in our minds of things that we NEED to achieve or this step by step list that we NEED to follow in order to have the absolute perfect life. However, your life is not a race and there is no exact timeline when things need to happen. Everything will happen and fall into place whenever it is intended to.

Whether you’re a recent college graduate and you’re worried about not having the perfect job lined up right after college, not being engaged or even being in a relationship when people the same age around you are getting engaged/ having families, you’re still living at your parents house when all your friends have already moved out of theirs, if you’re still in college when all your friends have already graduated, or if your going through a tough breakup or loss of a friendship. There are so many situations that happen out of our control or not as we plan, but the important thing is to enjoy your life and not be in a rush to make things happen. Not everybody’s story is the same and that’s what makes you unique.

When I’m having a bad day, I usually have a few songs that I listen to,  so I thought I would share them with y’all. Some of them are cliché but the words really do speak volumes. I usually put the playlist on shuffle and let the songs play on and once I’ve listened to the playlist entirely, I make sure my mood is changed and I am back to being my positive self again. I’m sure that I will add more songs to this playlist as time goes on but so far this is what I have, enjoy!

Another thing that I have found comfort in is buying plants such as succulents and cactus’s. All you have to do is show them love, water them often, and provide them sunlight. Its so amazing being able to watch them grow and flourish and it is kind of a beautiful metaphor of yourself and how you are growing and flourishing with these plants.

Remember:  its not a bad life, just a bad day.
Keep your head up and continue to keep living your life at your own pace, at the end of the day what matters is that you are happy and being the best person that you can be 🙂
