Mask Monday: Sephora Collection – Rose Face Mask

Happy Mask Monday friends!

Today’s face mask was dedicated to hydrating your skin. I tried out the Sephora Collection – Rose Face Mask. This mask is said to moisturize and brighten the face using natural Rose extracts. The mask is to be worn for 15 minutes and is said to plump the skin and leave your face with an immediate radiance boost.(#YouGlowGirl)

I have only purchased two items from the Sephora Collection, one was a mascara and the other a lipstick. Although I was not a big fan of the lipstick (it dried up my lips), I did like the mascara. I feel that because Sephora sells so many makeup and skin care brands, that the Sephora Collection always goes unnoticed or unappreciated. I do feel, however that the masks are a good place to start when shopping with that collection. Right now Sephora has 8 different sheet masks in different scents and skin care goals.

When I took the mask out of the packaging, it had an immediate rose scent to it – which smelt so good! This sheet mask was a little different because once you unfolded the mask, you then had to pill off the pink film and then fit the mask to your face. The sheet mask really hugged my face and felt so comfortable,Β  I honestly forgot the sheet was even on my face! It felt like it had melted onto my face and quickly absorbed into my pores. I liked that the mask’s rose smell wasn’t too overbearing and enjoyed the cool/calming sensation while it was on my face! Another thing I liked is that once you took off the mask you didn’t have to wash the remaining product off with water, just had to massage it into your face. Because my skin felt so hydrated, I didn’t even feel the need to put moisturizer on right after!

On a scale of 1-10, I give this mask a 7 out of 10. Although my face does not need much hydration because I am naturally oily, I felt like it was the perfect amount of hydration. Towards the end of the 15 minutes, I was not a huge fan of the Rose smell, just because it gave me a little bit of a headache after. Once I removed the mask looked in the mirror, however, I noticed my skin was glowing! The post effects of the mask were amazing, they left my skin feeling super hydrated and soft. My boyfriend got me this mask for free with his cologne purchase back in the summer time, but the rose mask can be found at Sephora and normally sells for $6, very affordable! Right now, Sephora is selling a limited edition Super Mask set of 4 sheet masks for $18 and is linkedΒ here, if you are interested in trying out The Sephora Collection mask set, it is online only! These masks make great gifts and stocking stuffers, I recommend you check them out at your local Sephora store.

Mask Monday: Mefactory Cement Peel Off Pack

Happy Mask Monday!

This Monday I decided to do a Korean beauty (k-beauty) mask from the company Mefactory. Todays mask was dedicated to clearing up blackheads and pores. I feel like I don’t pay as much attention to blackheads as I should and feel like you cant see blackheads unless you look really close up in the mirror. This mask is a cement mask and is good for clearing out the blackheads throughout your whole face. The t-zone is a very common place to get blackheads but I decided to apply it to my whole face.

For a while I was struggling with getting blackheads around my chin area on both sides of my face, I went to my local Riley Rose and was suggested to try this mask. I am a fairly new shopper to Riley Rose so I wasn’t knowledgeable about all the skincare products they offered. I love that they offer k-beauty products because that is not something I have ever used or had experience with since I have never traveled anywhere near Korea. I was originally looking for a Charcoal mask because I heard those were great for blackhead removal but the sales associate suggested this so I went ahead and took a chance on it since I’ve heard some pretty good buzz about k-beauty.

This is the first peel off mask I’ve used to I was a little clueless but definitely expected some kind of pain when it came to taking it off. I applied the mask with one of the silicone applicators I got from Riley Rose because I felt like it was going to be a lot smoother of an application process than just using my fingers. The mask was very thin and smelt a little bit like plastic so I was thrown off by it. The packaging had me very confused though because there was very little writing and it was all Korean. I kept the mask on for about 15-20 minutes, once it was completely dry it was so hard to even open my mouth because of how hard and solid it was. The mask said to peel it off once it was completely dry – and it tbh was a little bit painful to peel off. One thing I dislike about peel off masks is definitely the pain. The mask said to avoid your hair and eyebrows and you definitely should because I was tugging my hair so hard trying to make the mask off. Also it is not as easy as a sheet mask to remove because the mask comes off little by little in pieces and isn’t one smooth motion to take it off.

All around I give this mask a 4 out of 10. When I took off the mask I didn’t see any blackheads pulled off like I had expected to see, which sounds kind of nasty but that’s how you know a mask really works lol. My face did feel really soft once I removed the mask completely but it took me sooo long to peel the mask completely off since the mask came off in pieces. I was a little discouraged with this k-beauty mask but I will not give up on other brands from k-beauty and will definitely try out more masks from Riley Rose! The Mefactory Cement mask was $12ish (not too sure on the price since it was during the summer) However, I looked on the Riley Rose website and didn’t find the product there anymore but was able to locate it on Amazon for $17.99. Although I was not a big fan of this mask, I do hope that y’all may have better luck with it – if you choose to try it out.
